Denpa Ningen no RPG Free!: over 2 million downloads

Denpa Ningen no RPG Free! is the 4th entry in the Denpa Ningen series (known as Denpa Men in the West), and unlike the three others, it’s free to play. And it looks like it’s doing quite well for Genius Sonority, who announced this morning that the game had been downloaded over 2 million times since launch. Unfortunately, we still have no data about microtransactions, which are the sole source of revenue for the game (since it doesn’t have in-game ads).

Since Denpa Ningen no RPG Free! was launched in July last year, that means the monthly average is roughly 222 222 downloads. The fact that Nintendo pushed the game via SpotPass really helped with its promotion, by giving it a ton of exposure (pretty much all the 3DS owners with SpotPass downloads activated learned about the game that way).

To celebrate, Genius Sonority is going to hold a special in-game event on April 4th. More details will be announced next week.
