Q-Games have announced that PixelJunk Eden 2 will also be released on December 10th in Europe and North America, just like in Japan. The pre-purchase and launch discount is also available: 34% off until December 16th. Prices are as follows: 8.57€ / $9.89 until December 16th, then 12.99€ / $14.99.

Here’s plenty of details and the list of key features for the game:

PixelJunk Eden 2 isa meditative experience from acclaimed Japanese multimedia artist Baiyon who serves as Q-Game’s Creative Director. Baiyon returns once again to the PixelJunk Eden series to provide his unique vision of art and music in order to create an unforgettable experience that draws players in. The soundtrack contains the minimal techno / house sound of its predecessor, but with more of an organic feel.

Players will be able to enjoy traversing the rich, vibrant world of PixelJunkEden 2 either in single player or with a friend. In addition, players can choose their favorite levels and explore how they want in the unlockable Garden Collection mode. In the Garden Collection mode, players will be able to combine various Spices with different Grimps, and Gardens to find their favorite experiences. Local Co-Op returns to the series, allowing up to two players to collaborate and work together to create real time action paintings.

Players travel through the luscious Gardens, full of unique plants and vegetation with the help of Grimps. By filling up the Seeds with Pollen, players can open new Plants and pathways as they journey through their colorful, organic world. Grimps have the ability to jump and swing, providing a lively take on the action platformer genre. When the Grimps move, players can feel their presence in the Gardens as their world changes in appearance, shape and form. Players will create unique paintings in real time as they explore the Gardens. There are so many Grimps, and Spices each with their own unique ability and enhancements to discover. Combine these to navigate through the Gardens and recover the Spectra, which serves as the source of life in the world of Eden.

With PixelJunk™ Eden 2, Baiyon feels that the team was able to further expand the themes of the series by exploring the synthesis between action games and the feeling of painting in real time.

Occasionally while testing the game Baiyon felt like he really was painting something and not actually playing a game– let alone an action game! At those moments he felt like he had achieved at least a little bit of what he had set out to do.

Baiyon is sure you’ll create many of your own pleasant moments by matching the beats and adventure with Grimps as players explore the many kaleidoscopic gardens of  PixelJunk™ Eden 2

  • Unlock new Grimps with different perks, each providing new challenges!
  • Local Co-Op: The background reacts to both players’ movements allowing players to create a beautiful action painting together.
  • Alter the world in mind binding ways by using a variety of Spices to improve Pollen gathering, changing the Grimp’s movement, spending more time cultivating the Gardens, or even increasing the amount of enemies!
  • A euphoric soundtrack that matches the world to create a true meditative experience.
  • PixelJunkEden 2 provides countless hours of play with a bountiful amount of Gardens to choose from. Each with a multitude of variations.
  • An artistic visual style that keeps changing, like peeking into a kaleidoscope.
