Today’s Daily Briefs:

  • Mega Man
  • SteamWorld Heist
  • Twisted Fusion
  • Stardew Valley
  • Monster Strike anime series

Star Fox ZeroJimquisition

The latest episode of the Jimquisition is about Star Fox Zero, and more precisely its Invicible Mode (and the “outrage” that came with its announcement).

The news that Star Fox Zero would feature an invincible mode encouraged an almost predictable onslaught of outrage from the Hardcore Gamers who are Hardcore.

The idea of hand-holding and dumbing down has been a contentious topic for years, but if you scratch away the surface, there’s another concern that just isn’t hidden well enough.

The concern of an exclusive little club not being so exclusive anymore.

Star Fox Zero (Wii U) comes out on April 21st in Japan, and April 22nd in Europe and North America.

Dragon Quest

On May 28th and May 29th, the Dragon Quest Convention will be held at the Swiss Gamers Zone (Bienne), in Switzerland. There will be several activities, including playable games, tournaments, StreetPass sessions, and more.

Game-wise, the following will be available:

  • playable demo of Dragon Quest VII: Fragments of the Forgotten Past (playable in English before E3)
  • Street Pass session and trading for Dragon Quest IX (on Nintendo DS)
  • Dragon Quest Monsters Joker 1, 2 and 3 playable on Nintendo 3DS (unfortunately, it doesn’t mean that the latest entry will be localised. It will most likely be playable in Japanese only, which isn’t all that unusual for conventions).

You can find more details about the convention, and even buy tickets, on the official website.

Azure Striker Gunvolt 2

Yesterday, Skybane published a rather lenghty interview with Takuya Aizu (President of Inti Creates), that you can find on his blog. It covers a wide range of topics, including Azure Striker Gunvolt, Azure Striker Gunvolt 2, but also Mega Man Zero 4, and more. In that interview, Takuya Aizu explains that a physical release is something that could happen if there’s enough fans demanding it.

Same thing for an Azure Striker Gunvolt artbook: it’s actually something Inti Creates has been thinking about for a while, wondering when would be the best time to release one.

Head after the break for the rest of this post!

Mega Man

In the Japanese copies of Mega Man Legacy Collection, Capcom included a leaflet with an URL, leading to an online survey. In that survey, the company asks players whether they would like a new entry in the classic series (such as a potential Mega Man 11, for example). There’s also a question about a potential future collection (for Mega Man series such as X, Zero, Legends, Battle Network, ZX, Star Force, and more).

If you’re interested, you can click here to take on the survey (only in Japanese, obviously).

SteamWorld Heist

Last week, Image & Form announced that the update for SteamWorld Heist on Nintendo 3DS would be submitted “soon“. Once it’s in the wild (along with DLC), they’ll get on with the HD versions (including the Wii U version).

Here’s a picture of the new title screen for SteamWorld Heist on Nintendo 3DS (coming with the language and DLC update):

Twisted Fusion

Yesterday, the second public beta for Twisted Fusion (coming to Wii U later this year) went live: you can click here to try it out in your browser! For more information about the beta (including the list of changes compared to the first beta, and the controls), check out the latest Kickstarter update for the game!

Stardew Valley

Stardew Valley is a Harvest Moon/Story of Season-like game that recently came out on PC, which has been extremely successful. Will it ever come out on consoles? The answer is… yes! At least, its creator isn’t against that idea, far from it. Here’s what he said during a recent AMA session on Reddit:

I want Stardew to be as widely accessible as possible (as long as it’s fun to play on the platform)

In other words: a console port of Stardew Valley is a definite possibility, though it doesn’t look like there’s anything in the works. Don’t hesitate to (politely) tell the developer you’d like their game on your favorite platform!

Monster Strike anime series

Yesterday, mixi uploaded a video with all 14 episodes from the 1st season of the Monster Strike anime on YouTube: you can check it out (in Japanese) below! A quick reminder: the second season will start this Saturday (March 26th). Unfortunately, we don’t know if mixi will also upload versions with subtitles again.

Fire Emblem 0

Here’s the latest card from the 4th series of Fire Emblem cards, which came out last week in Japan:
