Daily Briefs (August 2): Ubisoft has surprises for the NX, Darksiders @ gamescom

Today’s Daily Briefs: Ubisoft has surprises in store for the NX, but also…

  • Darksiders Warmastered Edition
  • Buddy & Me: Dream Edition

Ubisoft and the NX

At E3, Ubisoft announced its very first game for the NX platform: Just Dance 2017. Following that, Alain Corre (from Ubisoft EMEA) explained that with the NX, Nintendo would be able to “recapture a lot of the lapsed Wii players“.

And in an interview with GamesIndustry, that same Alain Corre revealed that Ubisoft has other surprises in store for the NX (and that the company wasn’t just bringing Just Dance):

We announced that we’re developing Just Dance for NX and we have other surprises that we will announce later, but we also believe Nintendo has the power to reinvent the way families are playing. Nintendo is a fantastic powerhouse of brands that are really cherished by a lot of fans and families… I am still impressed by the reoccurrence of success and appetite even today for the Nintendo franchises on the current system.

What those surprises are, we will most likely find out whenever Nintendo is really to unveil its mysterious NX platform.

Darksiders Warmastered Edition

Yesterday, Nordic Games sent a press release to reveal their line-up for the GamesCom 2016. For Nintendo platforms, there will only be one game playable: Darksiders Warmastered Edition. Unfortunately, it’s highly like the Wii U version will not be playable (it’s pretty much guaranteed to be the PlayStation 4 version).

Darksiders Warmastered Edition (Wii U) comes out on October 25th in Europe and North America.

Buddy & Me: Dream Edition

Yesterday, Jason Behr (founder and Creative Director at Sunbreak Games) took part in an AMA session on Reddit in order to talk about Buddy & Me: Dream Edition. But the discussion ended up covering many other topics besides the game, including game design itself, his favorite games, and much more.
