Atlus USA interview about The Legend of Legacy, Etrian Odyssey 2 Untold, more

Yesterday, God is a Geek published a really lenghty interview of John L. Hardin, PR Manager at Atlus USA. It covers various topics, including Persona Q: Shadow of the Labyrinth, Etrian Odyssey 2 Untold: The Fafnir Knight, The Legend of Legacy and more. We’re not going to cover everything in this post, so if you’re a fan of Atlus, we invite you to click here to read the whole thing!

The Legend of LegacyIn the interview, John Hardin explains why Atlus USA picked up The Legend of Legacy for localisation. First of all, it’s because they have a good relationship with FuRyu: in fact, they already worked with them for Lost Dimension. Another reason the game was picked up for localisation is that it got positive mentions in Famitsu, and was one the top new IP that players were interested in.

John Hardin describes The Legend of Legacy as a “properly difficult JRPG” that fans of the SAGA series should enjoy. He’s convinced that, in a few years, it will be considered a real JRPG classic that has its place in any collection. He also compares it to Stella Glow (both games were shown together at E3), which is radically different:

They are so unashamedly JRPG but at different ends of the spectrum. I think Legend of Legacy has more subtlety to the story and characters. Stella Glow is super easy to get into. Legend of Legacy also has a pretty aesthetic. When you’re walking around in the world, the background scenery pops in and even though the draw distance is small, the effects are a lot of fun and it looks awesome.”
