ARMS: new fighter revealed… Helix (aka DNA Man)!

During the Nintendo Direct presentation, a few days ago, Nintendo revealed plenty of details about ARMS, including a brand new character called Minmin. A few days after the presentation, the official Twitter account started teasing something on Twitter, with several pictures of a rather intriguing stage called ARMS Laboratories Inc..

And it turns out that teaser was for a new character called Helix, known as DNA Man in Japan for… well, pretty obvious reason (even the English name is a reference to DNA). He was created in the ARMS Laboratories Inc., and he’s actually the one who escape for the cylinder-shaped containment unit in one of the screenshots showed earlier this week.

Helix is unlike any other fighter in ARMS: he can shrink and stretch at will with his elastic body. It’s thanks to that very body that he can easily dodge enemy attacks! To be more precise, he shrinks by dashing, and he stretched by jumping.

Here’s the reveal trailer for Helix:

And here’s two illustrations for that unique fighter:

Speaking of Helix Man, Nintendo also confirmed that he would be playable this week-end at Nico Nico Choukaigi, where a tournament and some exhibition matches will be held.

ARMS (Switch) will be released on June 16th worldwide.
