Apollo Justice: Ace Attorney – Nintendo 3DS release confirmed (November), first details, screens

A few weeks ago, we found out via a listing on the Korean game classification agency website that Apollo Justice: Ace Attorney was headed to the Nintendo 3DS. We assumed that Capcom would reveal the game just ahead of the Tokyo Games Show, in September, but it looks like we will not have to wait that long.

Indeed, Capcom just announced that Apollo Justice: Ace Attorney was not only headed to the Nintendo 3DS, but also that it would do so this very year… in November, to be precise. Just like all the other Ace Attorney game on Nintendo 3DS, this one will be a Nintendo eShop-exclusive in Europe and North America (no announcement for Japan yet). It will cost $19.99 / 19.99€.

Here’s what the story is all about:

Apollo Justice: Ace Attorney takes place years after the events of the previous series title, Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney – Trials and Tribulations, and consists of several compelling cases where the protagonist Apollo Justice must fight to defend his innocent clients accused of murder. Upon successfully completing the game’s first case, Apollo is asked to join disbarred attorney Phoenix Wright and work alongside Phoenix’s adopted daughter, Trucy. The pair go on to solve a series of quirky crimes including the theft of a noodle cart and the disappearance of a pair of magic panties!

The press release reveals that besides the upgraded “new look”, Ace Attorney: Apollo Justice would include the Japanese version of the game, allowing you to switch between Japanese and English one just like in the Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney Trilogy compilation (or the Japanese release of the original trilogy, on Nintendo DS). That way, you will be able to spot the differences in background signs and art between the two versions.

Also, text skip options are available right from the start, which is great if you have already played the game and want to go through specific parts as fast as possible.

Finally, here’s some pictures for the game:

For more details about the game, make sure to check out this post over at Capcom Unity. It goes over the various features of the game, though there’s nothing new in there for those of you who already played the game on Nintendo DS!

Apollo Justice: Ace Attorney (3DS – eShop) will be released this November in Europe and North America. A Japanese release was also announced today: click here for all the details! The Upcoming Games page has been updated!
