Ace Attorney 6: more returning characters confirmed (Trucy, Ema)

Update

Here’s more scans from Famitsu magazine, showing Ema Skye, the video examination mechanic, 3D examination of evidence (with fingerprint dusting working in conjunction with it, it seems), and more. We even get to see the full artwork for Mimi Nanano, an inexperienced magician working with Trucy. The scans below also confirms that Perceive (a mechanic introduced in Apollo Justice: Ace Attorney) will be back in Ace Attorney 6.

The text next to Ema reads “The day I can openly use my scientific investigation goods has finally arrived!”.

***Gyakuten Saiban 6Looking forward to some more Ace Attorney 6 news? You’re in luck: that’s exactly what you will find in the next issue of Famitsu magazine, coming out this Thursday in Japan! This week, the magazine will reveal three new characters, including two returning from previous entries.

The new and returning characters are:

  • Trucy Wright (voiced by Chieko Higuchi), Phoenix Wright’s “daughter”;
  • Ema Skye (voiced by Marina Inoue), who was previously spotted on one of the postcards from the Limited Edition. She’s now working in forensics, which is why she’s wearing an armband (in Apollo Justice: Ace Attorney, we learned that she had failed the exam, and had to become a homicide detective instead);
  • a man who seems to be a producer (Trucy’s?), who is apparently called Kanenari Shinoyama (thanks, Ash).

The magazine will also have some details about the second case of the game, which involves Trucy and the Gramarye (with an incident taking place during a magic show, that we’ve seen glimpses of previously). It looks like Trucy is the defendant in the second case: she can be seen in a cell in one of the screenshots of the preview below.

We also get the confirmation that forensics elements are back in the game: that includes dusting for fingerprints, examining evidence in 3D, examining video footage in different angeles in order to find contradictions, and more.

Here’s the preview from Famitsu magazine:

Ace Attorney 6 (3DS) comes out on June 9th in Japan. A European and North American release has already been confirmed.
