Nintendo: updated launch schedule (July 2016)

As usual, Nintendo revealed its updated planning for upcoming Wii U and Nintendo 3DS titles today, along with its financial results for Q1 2016-17. Unfortunately, this is a document for investors, who can check out how many games are coming out for each platforms. It’s not a list for consumers or even the press, with exact dates or anything. Therefore, do not expect to find many new release dates in the charts below.

There isn’t anything really new in the launch schedule, compared to what was previously announced. The games revealed at E3 2016 have been added (such as Mario Party: Star Rush), but that’s pretty much it.

Dragon Quest VIII: Journey of the Cursed King was delayed to 2017 in Europe, but until a proper announcement is made, you need to take this with a grain of salt. It’s not so much that the delay is unlikely (it actually is pretty likely), and more that those listings can be pretty inaccurate. After all, if the game truly was delayed to 2017 in Europe, it would also be the case in North America.

And in case you’re wondering: yes, Project Giant Robot is still listed as TBD on Wii U, and Dr. Kawashima’s Devilish Brain Training : Can You Stay Focused? are still listed.

We will update our Upcoming Releases page asap!
