Azure Striker Gunvolt 2: details and footage

A few days ago (on April 28th), Azure Striker Gunvolt 2 was showcased during a special event in Japan. The whole thing was streamed live on NicoNico, which means we have some new gameplay footage for the game.

• the “Claw” from the Japanese title is a reference to  Copen’s attacks. At one point during development, someone suggested the game be called Gunvolt Acura (the Japanese name of Copen), but this idea was ultimately rejected;
• Azure Striker Gunvolt 2 might be a tad harder than the original;
• the masked man, revealed back when Azure Striker Gunvolt 2, will not appear in the game. This design was created for either Gunvolt himself or an enemy, but it seems both ideas were scrapped at one point;
• originally, Gunvolt’s design was supposed to remain the same, but they decide to change it to reflect the changes he underwent following the first game;
• apparently, there are twice as many songs in the game, due to the addition of Lola, and more may be added via DLC. As for the Reincarnation song from the first Gunvolt, it will be back with slightly different lyrics and music.

Azure Striker Gunvolt 2 (3DS eShop) comes out on August 25th in Japan, this Summer in Europe and North America.
