Mobile: 10m users for Miitomo, Splatoon items available, more
Today, Nintendo uploaded a commercial for one of the most popular features of Miitomo: Miifoto. You will find it below, right after the break!
Today, Nintendo announced that Miitomo has been downloaded by over 10 million users worldwide: a pretty solid performance. Unfortunately, we don’t know how many of those 10 million users are still actively using the app, or how much money they have spent in it. During the press conference for Nintendo’s annual results, Tatsumi Kimishima explained that data found online was actually pretty close to reality.
Nintendo also announced that players have created over 20 million Miifotos: that’s an average of 2 per user, which seems pretty low. As for conversations, Miitomo has sparked more than 300 million of them, which gives an average of 30 per user. It looks like, for now, Miitomo is still actively used by a significant portion of the 10 million users.
To celebrate, there will be a special 10-day “Celebrating 10 Million Users!” promotion between April 29th and May 8th. Unfortunately, we don’t know what this campaign will be about, but no doubt Nintendo will make an announcement before the end of the week. Also, since the Retweet campaign was a success, all Miitomo users now get an Inkling Boy Wig and Inkling Girl Wig.
Finally, some new Splatoon clothing items are now available in Miitomo drop (until May 29th).
And don’t forget: new My Nintendo rewards are now available!
As a bonus, here’s an animation:
