Miitomo: new trailer, more stats (downloads, active users, revenue)

MiitomoToday, Nintendo shared a new trailer for Miitomo. Unfortunately, it doesn’t show anything really new (no new features or content to be found in there!).

Here it is:

Next, here’s some stats courtesy of SurveyMonkey. According to them, Miitomo was downloaded over 2.6 million times last week, with an average of 370 000 downloads each day. Apparently, iOS was the most popular platform (by far) with 2/3 of all downloads. But more importantly, the game currently has 4 million monthly active users (MAU) and about 1 million daily active users (DAU).

MAU and DAU are two important stats for mobile apps, more important than the actual number of downloads. After all, it doesn’t matter if even one billion persons download your app, but stop using it after the first couple of days. Hopefully Nintendo will provide more detailed data at the end of the month, during the meeting with investors.

An average user spends plays Miitomo two or three times a day, with a total of 7-8 minutes spent in the app. But are Miitomo players big spenders? According to SurveyMonkey, the game brings $280 000 per week, $40 000: this is not much compared to the juggernauts of the mobile space, but it’s definitely a good start (especially for a mobile game).

The biggest spenders are on iOS, which contributed to 80% of all revenue generated (only 20% for Android). Finally, the ARPDAU (Average Revenue Per Daily Active User) is 3-4 cents.
