Dandara (Switch) releasing in December, latest trailer and screenshots

Following the first Nindies Showcase presentation, Raw Fury announced a few games for the Nintendo Switch, and one of them was Dandara. It wasn’t showcased in the Nindies Summer Showcase, but we still got a brand new trailer and some screenshots right after the livestream!

Here’s the trailer and the screenshots and the trailer:

For those of you who have never heard of it before, Dandara is a 2D adventure platformer, where you have to go through various levels. Your goal is to reach the final level, but to do so, you will have to deal with plenty of enemies and bosses along the way.

Controls in this game are a bit peculiar: you mvoe by aiming the targeting reticle and using the jump button to navigate to a nearby platform (floor, wall, ceiling, etc.). As for combat, you hold the primary fire button, and release a charged shot in the direction of the aiming reticle.

Just like in any other Metroidvania, your character (a woman named Dandara) will acquire health and weapon powerups, granting her new abilities. Those new abilities can then be used to access areas of the map that were previously inaccessible.

Here’s the key features:

  • INNOVATIVE CONTROLS – Built natively for both the Nintendo Switch screen and traditional controller inputs, movement and combat interact smoothly and seamlessly.
  • BOUNDLESS EXPLORATION – Traverse across the esoteric world of Salt through fast and fluid jumps off any surface, unhindered by gravity, in lovingly crafted environments.
  • CHALLENGING PROGRESSION – Use a combination of speed & skill, wits & reflexes, to solve puzzles, earn powerups, and access areas previously unreachable.
  • BEAUTIFUL AND IMMERSIVE WORLD – A visual and auditory wonderland comes to life through gorgeous handcrafted pixel art and original soundtrack compositions.

Dandara (Switch – eShop) will be released in December in Europe and North America. The Upcoming Games page has been updated!
