Today, Nintendo shared some brand new screenshots for The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild on its Topics website. In this one, the company highlights some of the Legend of Zelda (on the NES) elements that can be found in the latest entry. The blog post itself is part of a series of posts revisiting the history of the Legend of Zelda series, for its 30th Anniversary.

At E3 2016, Nintendo made a pretty big deal of the fact that The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild was inspired by the very first The Legend of Zelda game on the NES. For example, Shigeru Miyamoto, Eiji Aonuma, and co. talked about letting the players explore a vast world by themselves, with minimal guidance.

But there are also various elements from The Legend of Zelda on NES that can be found in The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild. Here’s those Nintendo chose to highlight on its Topics website in Japan:

  • the old man you meet at the very beginning of the game;
  • Spectacle Rock
  • the raft
  • the skull (the room with Ganon in Level 9)

Here’s the screenshots:
