Youkai Watch: 1st movie getting a DVD/BR release on July 8th in Japan

The first Youkai Watch movie came out in December last year, was a smash-hit even before its release with over 1 million ticket pre-sold. Fastforward a few months, and the movie has generated over 7.6 billion yen of revenue from December 20 to March 2015… and things aren’t quite done yet, as the movie is yet to get a DVD/BR release!

Unfortunately, it looks like fans will have to wait a little bit before being able to watch the first Youkai Watch movie at home. On Thursday, Media Factory revealed a commercial for this DVD/BluRay release, in which we learn that it will be available on July 8th. Of course, the movie will come with three exclusive medals (which means big lines are expected at launch!):

– Fuyunyan
– Darknyan
– Fuyunyan (G)

The DVD will cost 2500 Yen, while the Blu-Ray will cost 3980 Yen. The release date isn’t really a coincidence, as the third Youkai Watch game is expected to launch the same week: we should have confirmation (or not !) tomorrow, during the Level-5 Vision event.
