Wii U: new Firmware update available (Ver. 5.4.0)

It’s been over 6 months since Nintendo last updated the Wii U (it was on December 5th, in 2014), which led many users to wonder if Nintendo was planning to release a major Firmware update for its home console.

And today, the company finally released a new one: was it actually worth the wait?… Maybe not, after all!

Here is the full changelog for this version 5.4.0 of the Wii U firmware:

Further improvements to overall system stability and other minor adjustments have been made to enhance the user experience

To download this update (which requires 271MB of free space on your console), you have two options:

– let the console do its thing if you have automatic downloads activated; you should get the latest Firmware version the next time you turn it on.
– go the System Settings, and launch the update process manually if you haven’t (or if they download hasn’t triggered automatically).
