Pokémon news (June 8th): Pokémon Shuffle: new challenge, events, and more

Pokémon Shuffle

Today, a new update for Pokémon Shuffle went live. This version 1.2.2 can be obtained by using the check-in feature in-game, and gives access to various things.

First, there’s a new challenge featuring Giratina. It’s a brand new kind of stage, called “Escalation Battle”. Every time you beat it, it gets more and more complicated. New obstacles are added constantly, such as instant disruption at Level 10 or four columns of frozen blocks at Level 40.The higher the difficulty, the easier it is to catch Giratina.

Each time you beat this special challenge, you get a reward which changes depending on the level. For example, you get 1000 coins at Level 5, a Disruption Delay item at Level 10, etc., a Mega Start at Level 30 and a Mega Speedup at Level 50.

This event will run from June 8th to June 22nd.

To celebrate the launch of this new kind of challenge, the developers are giving away 1 Mega Speedup item. To get it, you simply need to use the check-in feature in-game.

Today’s update also brings some new stages:

– 10 regular stages;
– 3 expert stages.

But that’s not all: a “new” set of Daily Pokémon is going live this week, and for the next two weeks. It features Pokémon that were already featured in Pokémon Shuffle in the past few weeks.

– Monday: Pachirisu
– Tuesday: Sigilyph
– Wednesday: Tropius
– Thursday: Farfetch’d
– Friday: Druddigon

Finally, the Mega Venusaur is now over, and rewards are being sent out. If you ranked among the top 10,000 players in Europe, 20,000 players in North America and 50,000 players in Japan, you can get a Venusaurite. If you didn’t, you will simply receive a Jewel as consolation prize. You have until June 15th (6AM UTC) to get your reward by using the check-in feature in-game.
