During the latest episode of Capcom TV, Ultra Street Fighter II: The Final Challengers was showcased, and even got a couple of reveals/announcements. Let’s start right away with the most important one: the release date! It was announced that the game would be released on May 26th in Japan, where it will cost 4 990 Yen (at retail) / 4 620 Yen (on the Nintendo eShop).

As you can see on the screencap above, the release date for Europe and North America is still TBA, and so we will have to wait just a little bit longer before getting a date for those two regions. However, there’s no doubt the western release will follow shortly after the Japanese, if it does not take place during the same week.

Players who buy the game at launch will get a download code for the game’s main theme (愛しさと切なさと心強さと), by May’n.

But that’s not all: during this episode of Capcom TV, it was also announced that Ultra Street Fighter II: The Final Challengers would also feature touch controls, similar to the ones in Super Street Fighter IV 3D Edition. There’s 4 icons in the left and right side of the screen, and you can touch them to pull off moves. You can do so while using button controls, so you don’t have to chose between one or the other (obviously, not on TV mode).

Here’s a video showcasing the touch controls:

Finally, here’s some more gameplay footage for the game, showcasing some co-op:

And as a bonus, here’s a couple more screenshots (including one featuring the Party Battle mode, showcased in the videos just above):
