Ubisoft: sales breakdown by platform, Top 10 retail games, Top 20 Franchises of 2005-2014

Yesterday, Ubisoft revealed its financial results for the last quarter of the Fiscal Year 2014-15 (which ended on March 31st). As usual, the company also gave some additional data, including a breakdown of its sales by platform and region.

Unsurprisingly, Nintendo consoles didn’t amount for much of Ubisoft’s sales last quarter, with 5% for the Wii and Wii U together (the Nintendo 3DS isn’t even mentionned, and is most likely bundled with the PS Vita and other platforms in the Other category).

The Wii U, with its 1%, did particularly bad, and it’s just getting worse every year. Since Ubisoft has pretty much stopped releasing any game on the platform, with the exception of Just Dance (still selling mostly on Wii), this isn’t really surprising.

Next: the Top 10 grossing retail games of 2014. The only game on a Nintendo platform is Super Smash Bros. for Wii U and Nintendo 3DS, which is #8. Unfortunately, Ubisoft doesn’t provide any precise sales number for those games.

Finally, here’s the Top 20 grossing console and PC franchise of 2005 and 2014. As usual, Mario is #2, while Wii Fit is #6. Of course, most of the sales for this franchise are from the Wii era: Wii Fit U didn’t really set the charts on fire worldwide.
