The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess HD – amiibo Trailer, Famitsu scans
Update
This post was updated with some minor details, and the final boxart for both editions of the game.

Following last week’s article (which didn’t allow us to learn much, except a couple of minor details), The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess HD was featured once more in Famitsu magazine this week. This new article basically confirms the various details about amiibo that were originally posted on Amazon.fr’s product page, and allow us to learn more about the various amiibo features.
Most of these details are showcased in a trailer inadvertently made public in the middle of the night by Nintendo Deutschland. Here’s the official upload:
This trailer confirms that the Wolf Link amiibo unlocks a new dungeon called the Cave of Shadows, made especially for Wolf Link and Midna. You can only use their abilities to defeat waves of enemies (you cannot transform back into a human). If you manage to beat the Cave (it has 40 levels), you will get a special wallet that can hold up to 9999 rupees: pretty handy if you’re planning to use the Magic Armor!
For players looking to challenge themselves: you can record the number of hearts remaining at the end of the challenge, in order to try and do even better the next time you go through the Cave of Shadows. The Wolf Link amiibo can also be used to store hearts during “normal” gameplay, and then use them when inside the Cave of Shadows.
The trailer also details how the other The Legend of Zelda series amiibo work:
- Link and Toon Link: replenish arrows (once a day)
- Ganondorf: increases the amount of damage you receive until the end of your session. This works separately from Hero Mode, which means you will take x4 damage if you use both together.
- Zelda and Sheik: replenish hearts (once a day).
One of the screenshots shows a Miiverse stamp in the Equipment screen: this is most definitely the Miiverse feature mentioned in the Prima Guide description.
Here’s the scans from Famitsu magazine:
Finally, here’s the final version of the boxarts for the game:
The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess HD (Wii U) comes out on March 4th in Europe and North America, and March 10th in Japan.
