amiibo: new Animal Crossing figures and cards dated for North America; more

Earlier today, Nintendo revealed some new Animal Crossing figures and cards for Japan, and Nintendo of Europe followed a few hours with their own announcements. And now, it’s Nintendo of America’s turn to make some: they did so via a Press Release, which also give us details about other amiibo.

Animal Crossing amiiboAnimal Crossing

Nintendo of America announced that the following Animal Crossing amiibo would be launched on March 18th in North America (same day as Europe):

  • Isabelle (Summer)
  • Timmy & Tommy
  • Kapp’n
  • Rover
  • Digby (stand-alone release)

Nintendo will also release the third series of amiibo cards in March: we can expect it to be released at the same time in Europe.

The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess HD

Nintendo confirmed that the Wolf Link amiibo would not be sold separately at launch, in North America. In other words, if you’re planning to get the digital version of the game, you will have to wait to get the amiibo at its regular price.

Mario & Sonic at the Rio 2016 Olympics

Nintendo confirmed that the Mario and Sonic amiibo would be compatible with Mario & Sonic at the Rio 2016 Olympics (this was originally announced earlier this month).

Pokémon

To celebrate the 20th Anniversary of the Pokémon series, the following amiibo will get new shipments in February:

  • Charizard
  • Jigglypuff
  • Greninja
  • Lucario

Star Fox Zero

Nintendo reiterated that Star Fox Zero (still scheduled for April) would be compatible. It’s something Shigeru Miyamoto revealed quite a while ago.
