The Legend of Zelda: Tri Force Heroes – Online beta this week-end in Japan

The Legend of Zelda: Tri Force HeroesRemember the Splatoon Global Testfire a couple of months ago? Well, it turns out Nintendo is doing a similar online beta for The Legend of Zelda: Tri Force Heroes in Japan. The company has started sending mails to players, with a download code inside (which can be redeemed automatically via a link leading to the “Redeem” page of the “web eShop”).

Just like the Splatoon Global Testfire, this online beta can only be played at specific times:

  • October 10th: 11PM to 12AM (session with Eiji Aonuma)
  • October 11th: 10AM to 11AM
  • October 17th:  11PM to 12AM
  • October 18th: 10AM to 11AM

NB: since the online for The Legend of Zelda: Tri Force Heroes is region-locked, you will only be able to play on servers located in Japan. In other words, if you live outside Japan, you will get a very laggy experience (which is why we did not put the time for Europe/North America, as we usually do). Keep that in mind if you’re planning to try out this beta!

This online beta also has a nice benefit: if you download the demo, you will be able to get 500 Yen off the digital version of the game, via the Nintendo eShop. Unfortunately, we don’t know if/when Nintendo will have a similar beta in Europe and/or North America. Since The Legend of Zelda: Tri Force Heroes comes out one day after Japan, we should hear about this beta pretty soon if Nintendo is planning to have one in the west.

The Legend of Zelda: Tri Force Heroes (3DS) comes out on October 22nd in Japan, and October 23rd in Europe and North America.
