  • Patch notes:
  • Fixed a crash that was caused by clicking on the Omen Tracker icon when there’s was no current omen
  • Fixed a crash that would happen at the end of round when Kallind was discarding Adventure cards from the board
  • Fixed a crash caused by there being no valid player when evaluating whether

    spell could be cast at the beginning of a turn

  • Fixed a potential crash when the game tries to get the Strength/Craft value for a card that’s not an Enemy
  • Fix for a crash caused by the Shapeshifter using their ability against a ghost, then winning their battle at the Crown of Command (talk about specific!)
  • Fixed a crash that would sometimes happen when trying to view all cards on a particular location
  • We’ve made it so you no can’t join greyed lobbies
  • Fixed a crash caused by stealing things from inside something else. e.g. Stealing from within a Bag Of Carrying. (Turns out stealing from pocket dimensions causes universal collapses, who knew?)
  • Fixed a crash caused by displaying a log message after something has been stolen from a player, when the original player who had their card stolen is no longer in the game
  • We’ve updated the AI so that it should no longer use its last life to gain gold. Money is important, but it’s not THAT important
  • Previously, Thieving Piskies would be removed from the board after a battle. We’ve updated our Piskie trapping technology, so they will now stick around after a battle
  • Fixed a crash caused by trying to bring a player back into the game after they had died, when they had trophies
  • Fixed the ‘End of Days’ cards not being properly added to the board when loading a save
  • Fixed the Ageless Talisman not buffing player stats correctly
  • Fixed the Jin Blooded being able to incorrectly bind spells cast by Ascendant Divine
  • Fix a crash caused by switching to view the inner region in the Challenge For The Crown ending
  • Fix a crash caused by moving a Terrain card that has a Denizen on it
  • Fixed the AI not using the ‘Amateur Inventor’ card properly
  • Removed the infinite loop in the Battle Royale ending caused by the loser having ‘Flail of Blood’

General Fixes:
  • If you quit and resumed the game, you were prevented from using spells against the Lord of Darkness on the Treasure Chamber space. As much as the Lord of Darkness would have liked to keep this bug in, we’ve now fixed it so you can properly cast spells on him.
  • Occasionally, the game would hang and get stuck when there was a Stand Off during the Battle Royale ending. This has now been fixed, so your battle royales can continue with no interruptions.
  • We fixed an issue where finishing an online game would cause a “Lost Connection to Server” message to pop up.
  • We’ve also fixed Steam Cloud saves not syncing correctly – your saves should all now save to the cloud properly, so you can continue your games on a different PC.
  • Previously, the reward for the ‘Defeat 100 Demons’ challenge was giving people the wrong title. It has been fixed to be the correct title, so demons will now be appropriately intimidated by you.
Crash Fixes:

We’ve rolled out some more crash bug fixes in this patch, including:

  • A crash caused by using immobility and spell call when playing with the Sprite character.
  • A crash that happened when you pressed the ‘Delete Account’ button when you didn’t have a Nomad Account.
  • An occasional crash when reloading player account avatar images.

General Fixes:
  • We’ve made it so that you can’t use the ‘No More Lives’ house rule while The Dancing Skulls ending is active. This is because during this ending, You can only resurrect if you have at least 1 life point which you can gain from defeating enemies (or trading in trophies depending on rule choice) or other card encounters. If you have the No More Lives rule switched on, you’ve basically made it incredibly difficult to get resurrected, to the point you’re limited to 2 cards from the realm region’s deck. So it could also become impossible to do so. So in order to avoid people getting stuck in this situation, we’ve made this change.
  • Certain Legendary versions of cards weren’t causing challenges to trigger as they should, so we’ve gone ahead and fixed those cards. The Legendary Deck versions of Self Portrait, Wraith and Giant will now add to challenges when encountered.
  • The Devil’s Minion was previously unable to use weapon inventions during psychic combat despite the fact they can use regular weapons that are meant for psychic combat. We’ve fixed this, so now all you Devil’s Minion players can use invented weapons to your evil hearts content.
  • We discovered and fixed an issue with the Witch Doctor’s Evil Eye ability. If you land on a character in the centre space for the first time and there is someone already there, it’s ok to use his ability. However, the game was allowing you to keep using his ability on the following turns despite not moving to land on the other character. We’ve fixed this now, so he can only use his ability when he lands on someone.
  • A minor fix, but sometimes the Werewolf card wouldn’t appear properly when you encountered it – it should now be visible.
  • We fixed an issue where the use of the Horn of Dread could lead to locking the game if the owner dies and then the new owner who uses it straight away loses a life.
  • We fixed a bug with the Enlightened destiny card, where it would not give the player a chance to trade in 1 light fate to gain a spell. Even if the player had room for a spell in their inventory and there are no anti-spell/magic effects in play, the game still wouldn’t let them use it. This has now been fixed, and the Destiny should function properly.
  • When the Ifrit Invasion card from the Fireland expansion was drawn while the Cataclysm version of the board was in use, the card wouldn’t let you roll for its effect. We’ve fixed this issue, so now the card should function as expected even when using the Cataclysm board.
  • We’ve added some more localisation fixed based on feedback from the community – thanks to everyone who pointed out text that needed updating!
Crash Fixes:

We’ve rolled out a ton of crash bug fixes in this patch, including fixes for:

  • An occasional crash downloading Avatar and Challenge textures
  • An occasional crash when selecting cards in a network game
  • An occasional crash in CURL on Android
  • A very infrequent crash when saving the game
  • And more!

Miscellaneous Changes
  • Signing out keeps you signed out when relaunching
  • The Game Speed option is now a house rule in online games – a much requested feature!
  • Achievement: Don’t Fear the Reaper now unlocks correctly
  • Sudden Death (ending) now includes destinies, beast rewards and dragon scales
  • ‘Poison Cards’ should be much easier to use now
  • Info dialogs for profile sections
  • Tooltips on Tokens in inventories have been fixed
Statistics Changes
  • New stat ‘Goblins killed’
  • ‘Demons Killed’ stat includes ‘unofficial demons’ such as Lesser Demon (Spirit)
  • Treasures & Relics weren’t counting their other stats (Objects/Talismans)
  • Eagle King (ending) now counts towards Eagle King defeat count
  • Cards Burnt stat should work properly now
  • Character wins/losses should now ignore Toads & Ghosts
Game Logic Changes
  • Tapestry Rewoven is no longer able to show revealed endings
  • Dragon Tokens are now processed in the correct order
  • The Day and Night cycle should now only change once per turn
  • Queen Mab should now have the correct bonus on subsequent encounters
  • All other Enemy and Creature combat bonuses are correctly reset
  • Doomsayer’s taking of a Spell is now optional
  • Life Tap (Spell) better handles players deaths
  • Cursed Followers may no longer be ditched at the Ice Bridge
  • Flail of Blood is no longer permanently in the Active Cards area
  • Active Cards shouldn’t show card backs any more
  • Felclaw now has the correct stats
  • Night Gaunt has the correct stats & faces the correct way
  • Using St George is now optional
  • The Legendary Horse and Cart hold the correct number of extra Objects
  • Choosing Path cards should be more reliable
  • Several Followers have been fixed where they could be used when they shouldn’t have been (this fixes a few lock-ups)
  • Ekor & Shiver Nymph should correctly flee when revealed (if their condition is met)
  • You should now only gain gold once from character bounties
  • Brood tokens effect now works correctly with the Queen Crest
  • Pathfinder ‘roll up to move’ works during movement roll and not just before
  • The One Talisman can no longer be lost
  • Chest (Dungeon) now gives the correct amount of gold
  • Chest (Dungeon) now also removes the correct amount of lives
  • Improved Forge Destiny’s check for valid targets before casting
  • Six-Fates Inn no longer shows the Carnival when in use
  • Player Graves are moved to expansion entrances in endings where they are locked out of the region

  • NPCs can now teleport to the Deep Realms when reaching the end of an Expansion

AI Changes
  • AI loop fixed when evaluating a Rusty Boomstick
  • AI loop fixed when trying to stash a card with the Scavenger
  • AI loop fixed with the Conman evaluating gold
  • AI loop fixed with Artificer’s Recycle ability
  • AI loop fixed using fate to pay for gold to pay for fate
  • AI should no longer overestimate its strength with a warhorse (we told them to be more realistic in future)
  • AI improved when evaluating the Castle
  • AI no longer gets stuck with the Monster Hunter Denizen
  • AI is more conservative when using some ‘disposable’ combat cards
  • AI no longer ignores Den of Thieves options
  • AI now accounts for multiple Witch Hunters
  • Fixed a nondeterminative AI issue with burning curiosity
  • Resolved an issue where the AI wouldn’t select cards because they thought it was still selected

We’ve rolled out a heap of logic and mechanical fixes, including:
  • Moving by using Eyes of the Hawk / Clockwork Owl has been fixed
  • Cancelling a burn action cancels properly now (It was incorrectly using either option to proceed)
  • Chanter type cards have been reworked to use the correct player order
  • Power Overwhelming now properly checks players have enough Spells when activated
  • Elixir of Life usability improved (sometimes it’d prompt people to use it when they actually couldn’t, e.g. when someone else was losing a life)
  • Totem Warrior’s ability has been fixed
  • Taking Spells from Arboreal Dragon is now optional
  • Barbarian can now replenish fate at the Crags, as he should!
  • Simurgh Feather no longer affects cards drawn by Ifrit Hoard
  • Legendary Goblin King stats have been fixed
  • Vengeful Guide was misbehaving when conscripted, we’ve made it behave itself now
  • Divine Priestess logic now matches the printed text
  • Snowdrifts no longer stop if the ‘current player’ dies
  • Hand in for trophy related warlock quests fixed
  • Warlock Quests that are completed immediately (when acquired) no longer prevent you from passing through the Portal of Power
  • Numerous AI loops and crashes fixed
We’ve also made some changes to the user interface:
  • Active cards area moved slightly
  • Base game ‘token places’ choices have been modified (e.g. ‘Encounter’ is now ‘Gain 1 Strength’)
  • Dice Bonuses are now more consistently display in combat when given in certain ways (e.g. things that increase your ‘roll value’)
  • ‘View Board’ option added to several cards and spaces
  • Fireball now shows stat as modifier
  • All warlock quest cards use their full description in large text mode
And a few other fixes and changes too:
  • Chat filter less strict (in the last update it seemed to have gone overboard, so we’ve adjusted it)
  • Users with names that can’t be displayed will display their Character name instead
  • Some of the new stats weren’t triggering correctly – they should be now though!

  • We’ve added a new house rule – you can adjust the default trophy trade-in values
  • There is now a new trophy trading helper/prompt (when trading) in the info box
  • New card backs for several decks
  • Astrologer & Street Sage now show correct card backs for their linked cards
  • Sky Screecher now uses your starting craft value instead of your current craft
  • Shiver Nymph and Ekor have been changed to ‘when revealed’ – no more chasing them around the board!
  • The One Talisman now discards instead of being ditched
  • We’ve changed how the Phoenix Potion works – it now prompts you much better
  • Ghosts no longer draw Path cards
  • Ghosts are no longer affected by Bog (terrain)
  • Ghosts can now move backwards in the city
  • Ghosts are unaffected by drunken revelry (you can’t enjoy drinks if you’re dead)
  • Several new tooltips have been added
  • Store navigation improved
  • Several endings changed to ‘fully kill’ players (they now skip turning you into a ghost)
  • We’ve added more details to existing tooltips to make them more useful

We’ve also fixed a whole heap of things we’ve spotted and that have been reported by the community:

  • Cataclysm Quests can now be completed properly
  • Cataclysm Places now behave as they should
  • Stables now use the correct prices for legendary cards
  • ‘Discard 2 followers’ quest fixed (for humans and AI)
  • Cataclysm Treasure Chest wasn’t giving correct rewards – they now do!
  • A crash caused by the Shopkeeper (denizen) has been fixed
  • Miner (follower) wasn’t checking gold correctly – we’ve improved his gold checking skills
  • Thief wasn’t able to steal when there was a denizen on the village
  • Ancient Artefact bonus will now go to battle roll correctly
  • Drawing Wyrd Path via Faerie Trod wasn’t putting a destiny on it
  • Stone of Lia Fal and Wyrd Path destiny issues fixed
  • Auspice can now be used properly
  • Reordered player initialisation
  • Kallind doesn’t go to the inner region anymore
  • Deep Realm no longer turns itself off each launch
  • Several places were checking if players could ‘gain’ and not ‘replenish’ fate
  • Several abilities reworked with Crown of Command (CoC) restrictions
  • Teleports triggered whilst on CoC no longer work (e.g. You encountered a card last turn that teleports you this turn but you’re now on the CoC)
  • Fixed issue with board appearing behind game setup
  • Fixed issue mimicking alignment when drawing tokens (The was causing issues with the Witch Hunter)
  • Fixed issue with several abilities not working when ‘shape-shifted in to’
  • Fixed issue playing Battle music
  • Fixed board sounds playing after quitting
  • Several AI lockups fixed

  • We’ve fixed even more issues that were causing crashes – it’s a never ending battle!
  • The Vampire character now has improved AI for when to use his transformation power
  • Crack the Earth now fully finishes its effect if another player dies
  • If you have multiple copies of Personal Journal, they will now stack (Now you can get extra personal)
  • After being given a sword by abilities, there’ll be a check for inventory overflow – previously this wasn’t checked

How to download updates for Talisman: Digital Edition for the Nintendo Switch?

To download the updates for Talisman: Digital Edition, you have three options:

  • let the console do its thing if you have automatic downloads activated, and didn’t completely turn it off

If not…

  • try to launch the game from the Home Menu while being connected to the internet. You should get a prompt when doing so: simply follow the instructions on screen;


  • select the game > press either + or – to go to the Options page > select Software update > select Via the Internet.

To check that you have the latest version installed, simply select the game on the Home Menu, and press – or + to go to the Options: the version number is displayed just below the game title.
