Super Mario Run: how to fix error with parent approval process (error 804-4105)
Following the launch of Super Mario Run, on December 15th, several users reported issues with the parent approval process. After buying the full game, and approving the request via Family Sharing, they would be met with the following error in Super Mario Run on the child’s device: “Waiting for purchase to be authorised” (Support Code: 804-4105).
And it turns out the solution to this issue is pretty simple… using a Nintendo Account (the same on both devices).
Here’s the solution provided by one of our readers, Jon:
This worked for me, hopefully it will work for you. “Child device” refers to the device that you sent the request from (logged into a child account). “Parent device” refers to the device that approves requests (and is thus linked to the parent account).
- Delete the app on the child device.
- Install the app on the parent device and link it to a Nintendo account during the initial setup process (the account you will use/have already used on the child device). If you don’t link during the initial setup and you’ve already linked on the child device, you’ll have to delete and reinstall.
- Proceed with the purchase on the parent device.
- Reinstall the app on the child device, linking it to the same Nintendo account as you used in step 2.
Just did this myself and it worked perfectly.
Hopefully, this solution fixes the issue for everyone impacted with that 804-4105 error in Super Mario Run, though it would be even better if Nintendo streamlined the whole process in an upcoming update. Have any other issues with the game? Make sure to let us know in this post!
Thanks Jon for providing a solution to this pesky “Waiting for purchase to be authorised” (Support Code: 804-4105) error!
