Super Mario Maker: new Event Course and Shaun the Sheep costume coming tomorrow

Update: we just added some photos of Aardman creating a Mario outfit for Shaun the Sheep. You will find them below!

Super Mario Maker came out back in September 2015, but Nintendo isn’t nearly done with with new Event Courses and costumes for the game. The company has been releasing new content regularly since the game’s launch, and it doesn’t look like it’s going to stop any time soon. It’s a great way to make sure people keep coming back to Super Mario Maker (this is part of Nintendo’s strategy for key titles, such as this one).

SMM Shaun the SheepAnd today, Nintendo announced that a new Event Course would be added to Super Mario Maker tomorrow. The company teamed up with Aardman (creators of Wallace & Gromit and Shaun the Sheep) in order to create a Shaun the Sheep costume, that you will be able to unlock by beating the Event Course.

This Shaun the Sheep costume comes with voice samples, special sound effects, and even a special pose with Shaun wearing Mario’s iconic overalls and cap. Unfortunately, there doesn’t seem to be a special end of level jingle!

Here’s a video showcasing the Shaun the Sheep costume in Super Mario Maker:

This is not the first time Nintendo and Aardman are collaborating. Back when the Nintendo Video service was still active, on Nintendo 3DS, the two companies created exclusive episodes of Shaun the Sheep. One of them features various elements from the Mario series (and even a miniature Nintendo 3DS console). The episodes are available for purchase from the Nintendo eShop of the Nintendo 3DS.
