Minecraft: Wii U Edition to be released at retail on June 30th in Europe

Update

We just added the EU boxart to this post: you will find it below!

***Minecraft Wii U EditionBack when the Super Mario Mash-Up Pack was revealed, Nintendo of America announced that the game would be released at retail on June 17th in North America (in about two weeks). But as mentioned previously, the press release for Europe didn’t mention a retail release, and nothing was said for Japan either.

Then a few days later, Nintendo announced that Minecraft: Wii U Edition was coming out in Japan one week after North America, on June 23rd (with Microsoft Japan publishing). All that was left was for a European date to be announced, and it’s exactly what we got a few minutes ago!

Nintendo of Europe announced that Minecraft: Wii U Edition would be released on June 30th in Europe (one week after Japan, and two weeks after North America). While the announcement doesn’t specify it, it’s basically guaranteed that Mojang is also publishing the game in Europe, just like in North America.

And of course, the retail version of Minecraft: Wii U Edition in Europe will include the Super Mario Mash-Up Pack on the disc, like in the other regions.

Here’s the EU boxart:
