SteamWorld Heist, release dateHave you been waiting for SteamWorld Heist (the latest entry in the SteamWorld series) for quite a while now? Good news: your wait is almost over! Today, Image & Form revealed that the game would be released on the Nintendo eShop of the Nintendo 3DS on December 10th, in Europe and North America (the Japanese release will follow at a later date).

To be more precise, the game will be available at:

  • Europe: 3PM
  • UK: 2PM
  • North America (ET): 9AM
  • North America (PT): 6AM
  • Japan: 11PM

The game has been in development for over two years, and almost missed 2015 altogether… Good news: there will not be any delay, and the Nintendo 3DS will be released next week in Europe and North America. The other versions, including the one for Wii U, will be released next year, as announced a few weeks ago.

SteamWorld Heist will cost $19.99 / €19.99 / £14.99, but Image & Form will offer a nice launch discount. Until December 31st, you will be able to get the game for only $16.99 / €16.99 / £11.99. After that, you will have to wait a long time in order to get another discount… you have been warned! And if you buy the game before December 31st, you will not only save money, you will also get an exclusive Nintendo 3DS Themes (which will not be sold separately, even at a later date).

Image & Form explains that SteamWorld Heist may be twice as expensive as SteamWorld Dig ($9.99), but it’s also 10 times bigger (and offers 5 times the value according to them).

Finally, the results of the latest SteamWorld Ambassador Challenge have been revealed. The winner is J-Gamer Nathan, who came up with the following quote for the launch trailer: “Too robust to rust”. Said trailer will debut on December 8th!

SteamWorld Heist (3DS eShop) comes out on December 10th in Europe and North America, and next year in Japan. The Wii U version will follow at a later date, next year.
