Star Fox and Nintendo Exec puppets on display at E3, Miis being sent out via SpotPass on 3DS
UPDATE: Nintendo confirmed that the puppets were created by the Jim Henson Company with direction from Brian Henson.
Nintendo’s Digital Event opened with a Muppet-like sketch featuring puppet renditions of Satoru Iwata, Reggie Fils-Aimé and Shigeru Miyamoto. During the opening bit, the three puppet execs transformed into puppet versions of Fox McCloud, Peppy Hare and Falco Lombardi from the Star Fox crew. Oldschool fans will have taken note of the nod to the box art to the original Star Fox (or Starwing for PAL gamers) which featured actual puppets of the four main characters as well, though those looked a lot more “serious.”
If you just can’t get enough of Nintendo’s executives and producers, Nintendo of America is sending out Miis of Shigeru Miyamoto, Hiromasa Shikata (Director of The Legend of Zelda: Tri Force Heroes) and potentially others of a special Mii Parade for E3 2015.
