Split Fiction to support GameShare for Switch 2 and 1 users
Yesterday, Nintendo shared the latest Creator’s Voice video, which is about Split Fiction (the latest co-op adventure from Hazelight Studios). Immediately after that, Electronic Arts shared a blog post featuring some additional details (including some about Nintendo Switch 2 features).
First up, it was announced that pre-orders for North America will kick off on April 24th. The game will cost $49.99 (same as other platforms), and as previously announced, it will also support the Friend’s Pass (which allows you to invite a friend to play with you for free, regardless of their platform).
The blog post also details two Nintendo Switch 2 features supported by Split Fiction:
- GameShare will allow players to play together over a local wireless connection with just one copy of the game! Furthermore, Nintendo Switch 2 owners can also share Split Fiction with original Nintendo Switch users, allowing them to play together over a local wireless connection.
- GameChat will enable players to chat live using the console’s built-in microphone and share video live with friends via supported USB cameras. The camera image will appear on the player indicator UI within the game.
Even though Split Fiction is not releasing on the original Nintendo Switch, the fact that GameShare will support both Nintendo Switch 2 and Nintendo Switch consoles means that everyone will be able to enjoy it… even players who cannot (or don’t want to) immediately upgrade to the newest console!
Split Fiction (Switch 2) comes out on June 5th worldwide.
