Splatoon: promotion video for the first Japanese SplatFest

SplatFest are special events that will take place regularly in Splatoon. During those, players have to answer a question (like “Do you prefer cats or dogs?”), before joining a team depending on their answer. At the end of the SplatFests, the team with the most points win… it’s a bit like the Everybody Vote channel for the Wii, but with some squidtastic flavour!

The SplatFests last 24h, and take place during the night at Inkopolis. Everybody wear special t-shirts and dance on the central plaza, with messages of support for each team (from Miiverse) being displayed on noticeboards. All of this is showcased in a special SplatFest promotion video, uploaded earlier today by Nintendo.

Here it is:

The first SplatFest will take place this week-end in Japan, on June 13th (it lasts 24h). Players will have to chose between Rice and Bread as their favorite dish for breakfast.

– Europe: 11AM
– UK: 10AM
– North America (EDT): 5AM
– North America (PDT): 2AM
– Japan: 6AM

NB: this first SplatFest is only for Japanese players, so unless you own a Japanese Wii U and copy of the game, you won’t be able to participate.

Finally, here’s some artworks posted on the official Twitter account for Splatoon:

The first SplatFest will take place on June 20th in North America, and June 27th in Europe.
