Sonic Forces releasing on November 9th in Japan, latest screenshots
Last week, Sonic Mania was finally released on the Nintendo eShop of the Nintendo Switch (and various other platforms), and was the first 2D Sonic game to come out in quite a few years. But there’s another Sonic game slated for a 2017 release, and unlike Sonic Mania, it’s in full 3D… that’s right, Sonic Forces! (You didn’t forget about this one, did you?…).
Sonic Forces will be released on pretty much the same platforms as Sonic Mania, but unlike its 2D cousin, it will also be available at retail (and not just as part of a Limited Edition, with a code inside the box). We don’t have a release date yet, and all we know is that the game will be available sometime this holiday, worldwide.
Actually, we do have a release date: November 9th. But that date is only for Japan, where the game will be available at retail and on the Nintendo eShop, for the same price: 5 990 Yen. That being said, it’s likely Sonic Forces will be released the same week in Europe and North America (on November 10th and 7th, respectively).
Naturally, we will make sure to update this post (or make a new one, if necessary) whenever SEGA confirms the release date for the west. In the mean time, here’s a few more screenshots for the game:
