Shingeki no Kyojin 2 ~Mirai no Zahyou~ announced for the Nintendo 3DS

Back in 2013, Spike-Chunsoft released Attack on Titan: Humanity in Chains on Nintendo 3DS in Japan (where it’s known as Shingeki no Kyojin ~Jinrui Saigo no Tsubasa~). It was followed the next year by an expanded version called Attack on Titan: Jinrei Saigo no Tsubasa CHAIN, the one we ended up with in Europe and North America.

And today, the company announced that a sequel called Shingeki no Kyojin 2 ~Mirai no Zahyou~ (lit. Attack on Titan: Coordinates of the Future) would be released on Nintendo 3DS. We have absolutely no detail about the game, just that it will be released later this year in Japan.

Since Attack on Titan: Humanity in Chains covered the same story contents as the first season of the anime series, it’s more than likely than Shingeki no Kyojin 2 ~Mirai no Zahyō~ will cover the events of the second season. However, it’s not clear whether the events of the first season will also be included, and if not, if there will be some sort of recap.

Spike-Chunsoft will share some details about the game at a later date, but our very first look will come this week-end. Indeed, the very first TV Commercial will air alongside the latest episode of the second season of the anime series.

The teaser website features the following bit of text:

Gather allies! Build a wall! … and exterminate them!

And here’s the very first commercial, showing a fair bit of actual gameplay footage, and confirming that the Story Mode will indeed cover the events of the second season of the anime series:

It also confirms that there is indeed a game mode that tasks you with building a wall, but we don’t have any more details for now.

Shingeki no Kyojin 2 ~Mirai no Zahyou~ (3DS) will be released later this year in Japan. The Upcoming Releases page has been updated!
