Shin Megami Tensei IV has sold over 600 000 units worldwide

Update

Thanks to Amazon.co.jp, we now have the boxart for the Atlus Best Collection version of Shin Megamu Tensei, launching on October 8th in Japan:

Ever since the release of Persona 3, the Shin Megami Tensei series has always been in the shadows of its spin-off series. But that doesn’t mean it’s not doing well… quite the opposite! This morning, Atlus announced that total sales for Shin Megami Tensei IV (on Nintendo 3DS) had passed the 600 000 milestone worldwide.

Unfortunately, Atlus doesn’t give any specific sales numbers for each region, but we do know that by the end of 2014, the game had sold over 262 000 copies in Japan alone. Due to the late (and Nintendo eShop-only) release in Europe, it’s quite likely that the rest of the sales come mainly from North America (especially due to the special offer with Fire Emblem Awakening, where players could get 30$ in eShop credit simply by buying both games).

To celebrate, Atlus is going to release an “Atlus Best Collection” version of Shin Megami Tensei IV, on October 8th in Japan. It will cost 2 980 Yen (instead of 6 980 Yen when the game came out), but we don’t know if it will include all the DLC or not.
