Shantae Half-Genie Hero: introducing the Hypno Baron and the Tinker Factory

On Wednesday, WayForward posted the latest update for Shantae: Half-Genie Hero on their Kickstarter page. This time, they introduced a “new” villain: the Hypno Baron. He first appeared in Shantae: Risky’s Revenge, and he’s making his comeback in this new entry. As most villains, he holds a deep grudge against the protagonist (in this case, Shantae). The developers described him as a mighty foe, who uses the power of hypnotism.

WayForward also gave backers a look at the Tinker Factory, described as “a punishing gauntlet of volcanic-themed challenges which will bring Shantae Mode to its conclusion”. Some of the challenges are pretty tough, and they’re not recommended to players who cannot take the heat… you have been warned!

The developers reveal that development is progressing pretty well: in fact, with this Final chapter, the team is finally done with the concept art and character design phase. Of course, the game is far from complete, but at least, the developers are done with a massive part of the game’s development.
