Puyo Puyo Chronicle: new trailer, second Nintendo 3DS Theme

Today is the very first day of the Tokyo Game Show 2016, and publishers have been uploading trailers and promotional videos for their games. Naturally, SEGA did the same for Puyo Puyo Chronicle (to be released on Nintendo 3DS in December), which gets a second trailer!

For those who missed our previous posts, Puyo Puyo Chronicle is a game blending the Puyo Puyo gameplay with a full-fledged RPG. There’s a world to explore, (3D) characters to meet, quests to complete, and much more. All of this is showcased in the new trailer revealed today by SEGA!

Here’s the trailer:

The trailer also shows a dungeon, some battle footage (with the skills characters can use), and more. Naturally, characters get XP at the end of each battle, and they level up when they get enough of them. To take on strong enemies, you can use Puyo Puyo cards, which can be bought using coins.

As for multiplayer, the trailer showcases the “Boss Battle with Everyone”, where up to 4 players can team up to defeat bosses. In doing so, you can get some rare items and cards, along with some extra coins. Naturally, SEGA doesn’t forgoet to mention the many rules included in Puyo Puyo Chronicle (there’s 17 of them), including some that can be played online.

Finally, SEGA revealed a second Nintendo 3DS Theme for Puyo Puyo Chronicle, this time based on the two celebrities promoting the game. It’s also an early-purchase bonus!

Here’s what this second Nintendo 3DS Theme looks like:
