Pokkén Tournament: new update available (Ver. 1.2), changelog

Pokkén TournamentYesterday evening, a new Software update for Pokkén Tournament went live. It brings the game to Ver. 1.2, but without any additions. As announced previously, this update fixes various glitches and bugs.

Here’s the official patch notes for North America:

SCEPTILE: Fixed bug where the character would sometime dive underground when triggering Hang.
SHADOW MEWTWO: Measures to counter inescapable combos.
PIKACHU LIBRE: Fixed bug where you went through opponents smashed against walls.
Fixed a bug where UMBREON’s attack effect disappeared when activating PACHIRISU.
RESHIRAM: Adjusted basic damage and Guard Break.

You can find more details about what was changed on Serebii, as the official patchnotes (in English) are missing quite a lot of details. We will update this post with the official patchnotes from Nintendo of Europe later (provided those are more detailed than Nintendo of America’s).

To download this update, you need at least 14MB of free space on your Wii U or external HDD, and naturally, it’s required in order to play online. To do so, you have two options:

  • let the Wii U do its thing if you have automatic downloaded activated: you should have the latest version installed the next time you launch the game.
  • if not, you can launch Pokkén Tournament from the Home Menu (not the Quick Start Menu), in order to trigger the download manually.

To check that you have the latest version of Pokkén Tournament, simply launch the game: you should see Ver. 1.2 in the top left corner of the screen.
