Kirby: Planet Robobot – Overview trailer, website update (size, footage), pre-loading (JP)

Today, Nintendo updated the official website for Kirby: Planet Robobot in Japan. The company revealed an overview trailer, a new copy ability, new Robobot Armours, and more. Also, pre-loading is now live on the Nintendo eShop, for those of you who happen to own a Japanese Nintendo 3DS!

Kirby Planet RobobotPre-loading

If you own a Japanese Nintendo 3DS, you can now pre-purchase and pre-load Kirby: Planet Robobot from the Japanese Nintendo eShop, or Nintendo’s website. In doing so, you will be able to start playing right away at 10PM on April 27th (JST), after downloading a small update. But in order to download the digital version of the game, you will need at least 5 314 blocks / 664MB of free space on your SD card.

Website update

Today, the official website for Kirby: Planet Robobot was updated. Nintendo reveals the last of the three new copy abilities to be found in the game: ESP (which was “leaked” on the North American website), that you get by inhaling a new type of enemies.

This ability is quite clearly inspired by Ness, from Eartbound. It allows Kirby to teleport a little distance away, which is a great way to avoid attacks or obstacles at the last second. With this ability, you can also control a ball of psychic energy, in order to attack enemies from a distance.

Next, we have several new Robobot Armours:

  • Spark: allows you to throw electric balls (small if you fire quickly, or big if you charge them). You can even charge your shot, in order to shoot a beam;
  • Jet: it basically transforms your Robobot Armour into a plane. You can shoot enemies with regular “ammo”, and missiles. You can also dodge enemies and attacks;
  • Cutter: allows you to use giant saws to cut everything in your way. You can control the direction of the saws, but also throw them like a boomerang on short distance. You can keep walking while using the saws, which allows you to instantly destroy any obstacles, enemies, or attacks coming your way;
  • Bombs: you can use walking bombs. When you throw them, they just keep walking forward until they either explode or hit something (an enemy, a switch, etc.);
  • Wheel: transform your Robobot Armour into some sort of racing car, with some spikes at the front (to instantly kill enemies and destroy obstacles). You can even do some figures.
