Pokkén Tournament: new trailer, Wii U bundle and special controller (Japan)

Pokkén TournamentToday, Nintendo and The Pokémon Company made several announcements regarding Pokkén Tournament. First, they revealed a brand new trailer for the Wii U version of the game, which is coming out on March 18th in Japan. It doesn’t show anything new, but gives us a good look at the various playable Pokémon, the Burst Gauge and Burst Attacks, the support Pokémon, and more.

The game will get several “editions”:

  • retail version: 7 200 Yen
  • download version: 6 800 Yen
  • Wii U Bundle: 36 800 Yen

The Wii U bundle includes:

  • Wii U console (Black, 32GB)
  • Pokkén Tournament (download version)
  • Dark Mewtwo amiibo card (also available with first-print copies of regular edition at retail)
  • Action Sheet with all the moves of the playable Pokémon

But that’s not all! On the same day, a special controller will be released courtesy of Hori. It’s basically the same controller as the one used on the Pokkén Tournament Arcade machines, but for the Wii U. It will cost 3 480 Yen.

Here’s the list of compatible controllers:

  • Wii U GamePad
  • Wii U Pro Controller
  • Wii Classic Controller (must be connected to a Wii Remote, obviously)
  • Hori’s Pokkén Tournament controller

Pokkén Tournament (Wii U) comes out on March 18th in Japan, and this Spring in Europe and North America.
