Pokkén Tournament DX

Today, the latest Official Group Match for Pokkén Tournament DX went live. Here’s all you need to know about it:

  • Name: Dynamic Fury Cup
  • Type: Basic Battle, Fixed Battle Arena
  • Runs from January 4th to January 6th
  • Time: 3AM PT to 7PM PT / 6AM ET to 10PM ET / 5AM GMT to 9PM GMT / 6AM CET to 10AM CET / 6AM JST to 10PM JST
  • Participation prize: Dynamic Fury (title)
  • Ranking Prizes:
  1. Places 1 to 10 – Chrom League Master
  2. Places 11 to 30 – Red League Master
  3. Places 31 to 60 – Blue League Master
  4. Places 61 to 100 – Green League Master

The next official Group Match for Pokkén Tournament DX has already been announced, and will take place in two weeks:

  • Name: Psyfirecracker Cup

Pokémon GO

Today, the latest newsletter for Pokémon GO shared some early details about a “New Year Surprise”. This surprises involves “something strange happening”, impacting the migration of Pokémon from the Hoenn region. It looks like more details will be shared next month.

Also, a new Safari Zone was announced yesterday. It will take place in Porto Alegre in Brazil from January 25th to January 27th, and will be the very first Safari Zone event in South America. It will be a free, but ticketed event with limited availability.

It will feature the following:

  • Pokémon rarely seen in South America
  • most of the Pokémon from the event will spawn throughout Brazil
  • Team Lounges, where players can cool off and recharge
  • Photo Ops
  • special PokéStops giving 2km Eggs

Pokémon Quest

Earlier this week, it was announced that the mobile version of Pokémon Quest is headed to China, courtesy of NetEase. There is a countdown running, that will end on January 8th. It’s not clear whether that’s when the app is released in China, or if it will be properly announced on that day.
