Gigantamax Toxtricity

The Pokémon Company have revealed another Gigantamax Pokémon for Pokémon Sword and Shield: Gigantamax Toxtricity. Here’s a video, some pictures, and some details for it:

  • Type: Electric/Poison
  • Height: 78’9″+
  • Weight: ??? lbs.
  • Ability: Punk Rock / Plus / Minus
  • Moves: Electric-type moves used by Gigantamax Toxtricity will change to G-Max Stun Shock. G-Max Stun Shock not only deals damage but also poisons or paralyzes all opponents.

Online competition

The latest Online Competition for Pokémon Sword and Shield, the 2020 International Challenge February, has been announced. Here’s all you need to know:

  • Battles: Double
  • Rules: official VGC rules (Download Rules available if you want to train ahead of the competition)
  • Registration: February 19th to February 26th
  • Battles: February 27th to February 29th
  • Participation prize: Casual Tee (Poké Ball Guy)
  • Reward: up to 50CP (you need to link your Pokémon Trainer Club account to your Nintendo Account to be eligible)

Pokémon Day 2020

Niantic have announced a couple of events for Pokémon Day 2020 in Pokémon GO:

Pokémon Day celebration event

  • When: Tuesday, February 25, 2020, at 1:00 p.m. to Monday, March 2, 2020, at 1:00 p.m. PST (GMT −8)
  • Features and Bonuses:
    • Some Pokémon are here to party! Keep a lookout for Pikachu and Eevee wearing party hats appearing in the wild. Bulbasaur, Charmander, and Squirtle sporting the same festive look will be hatching from 7 km Eggs and will appear in 1 star Raids. There’s a chance that any of these partying Pokémon could be Shiny, too!
    • Armored Mewtwo strikes back in five-star raids! Not only is Armored Mewtwo in Pokémon: Mewtwo Strikes Back—Evolution, but it will be returning to raids as well with the special Charged Attack Psystrike.
    • Remember Clone Pokémon? Well, some are coming to Pokémon GO! In celebration of the Pokémon Day launch of Pokémon: Mewtwo Strikes Back—Evolution on Netflix, special Clone Pokémon—including Venusaur, Charizard, and Blastoise—will appear in four-star raids. Be sure to use #GOsnapshot during the event, too—Clone Pikachu might appear in your photo, and you might be able to catch it!
    • Trainers will be able to do up to two special trades a day.

Raid Day featuring Nidorino and Gengar wearing party hats!

  • When: Sunday, March 1, 2020, from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. local time
  • Features:
    • Nidorino wearing party hats will be appearing in two-star raids.
    • Gengar that know Lick and Psychic and are wearing party hats will be appearing in four-star raids.
    • If you’re lucky, you might encounter a Shiny Nidorino or a Shiny Gengar wearing a party hat!
    • You can receive up to five Raid Passes at no cost during the event by spinning Photo Discs at Gyms. You cannot hold more than one of these Raid Passes at once, and they will not be available after the event ends.

Pokémon Day 2020

Pokémon Home

The Pokémon Company have shared some additional details about Pokémon Home, starting the the mobile app. While a Nintendo Account is not required to use it (you can link your account later), you do need one to use certain features:

  • share data with the Nintendo Switch version of the app
  • transfer Pokémon from Pokémon Bank
  • checking Battle Data
  • transfer your Pokémon Home data to another device

Also, if you do not renew your Premium Plan, you will not be able to transfer Pokémon from the Premium Boxes even if you still have space in your Free box. You will need to renew the sub.
