Pokémon news (May 25th) – Pokémon Shuffle: Shaymin event, 4 million downloads, more

Pokémon Shuffle

Today, The Pokémon Company announced that Pokémon Shuffle has been downloaded over 4 million times worldwide. Last time we got an update, it was on April 27th, and Pokémon Shuffle had been downloaded over 3.5 million times worldwide. That means the game was downloaded by 500 000 additional people since then, which is a really healthy growth rate.

To celebrate, all players will receive a Complexity -1 item (which needs to be redeemed before June 22nd), and a new event was launched: it runs until June 15th (6AM UTC), and it allows players to get Shaymin. By completing this special stage, you can get 1000 coins (but only the first time). To get both the Complexity -1 item and the Shaymin event, you need to download the new update (Ver. 1.1.14) using the check-in feature in-game.

Here’s some screenshots for the Shaymin event:

Using the check-in feature will also allow you to get your reward for the Mega Lucario event:

– a Lucarionite if you’re among the top 15,000 players in Europe, 30 000 players in America or 65 000 players in Japan, but didn’t win during the first event;
– two jewels if you’re among the top 15,000 players in Europe, 30 000 players in America or 65 000 players in Japan, but already won during the first event;
– a jewel if you didn’t rank.

You have until June 1st (6AM UTC) to claim your reward.

Pokémon Lab

Pokémon Lab is a special event that will take place from July 8th to October 12th in Japan. During that event, there will be a special promotion for Pokémon X / Y / Omega Ruby / Alpha Sapphire, allowing players to get a download code for one of the three Kanto starters (Bulbasaur, Charmander or Squirtle).

In order to get this code, they will have to complete a “mission” at the event, which consists in matching images, silhouettes and footprints to their respective Pokémon.
