Pokémon GO

Today, after several days of waiting, Pokémon GO was finally launched in Japan. As we expected, McDonald’s also gave details about their sponsorship, and revealed that all their restaurants would be either Pokéstops or Gyms:

  • Pokéstops: 2 500 restaurants
  • Gyms: 400 restaurants

Talking of the Japanese launch of Pokémon GO, here’s a video message from Junichi Masuda (from Game Freak, who only speaks in Japanese) and John Hanke (from Niantic):

The Great Pikachu Invasion 2016

In order to let fans prepare for the Great Pikachu Invasion (taking place from August 7 to August 14th), The Pokémon Company has uploaded a video showing them how to dance the Pikachu Dance:

Battle competition

Today, the latest battle competition for Pokémon Omega Ruby / Alpha Sapphire was announced: the Sinnoh Classic. Here’s the rules:

  • Battles: Double Battle;
  • Rules: current VGC rules;
  • Pokémon allowed: Pokémon in the National Pokédex (from 001-493);
  • Pokémon banned: Dragonite, Mewtwo, Mew, Tyranitar, Lugia, Ho-Oh, Celebi, Kyogre, Groudon, Rayquaza, Jirachi, Deoxys, Dialga, Palkia, Heatran, Giratina, Manaphy, Darkrai, Shaymin, and Arceus;
  • Items banned: Mega Stones;
  • Battles: from July 22nd to July 24th;
  • Prize: Garchomp (Level 66), based on Cynthia’s Garchomp. It knows the following moves: Dragon Rush, Brick Break, Giga Impact, Earthquake.

Pokémon Comaster

Yesterday, a handful of events went live or were announced for Pokémon Comaster:

  • a special Concept Trevo is available until July 28th, and gives you a higher chance of getting the Lugia, Dialga, Empoleon, and Blastoise EX figures. Dialga and Blastoise can only be obtained with this Concept Trevo.
  • a special Ranking Match Festival, which will start on July 28th.
  • Daily Missions, which will start on July 29th, which will allow you to get Rare Metals.
