Pokémon GO: Raikou, Entei, and Suicune to start appearing later today

Earlier this Summer, Pokémon GO players all around the world were able to catch some pretty rare Pokémon, such as the Legendary birds from Kanto, or even Mewtwo. And it looks like there’s more Legendary Pokémon on the way: namely, Raikou, Entei, and Suicune, from the Johto region!

Just like in Pokémon Gold and Silver, the three legendary beasts will not stay in one place for too long, and will remain in a given region “only” for about a month. You will have to defeat them in Raid Battles in order to get them!

Here’s where they will first appear:

  • Raikou: Americas
  • Entei: Europe and Africa
  • Suicune: Asia-Pacific region

Then on September 30th, the Pokémon will move to another region, before moving again on October 31st.

Alongside those Legendary Pokémon, Niantic will also being field-testing for EX Raid Battle (previously known as Exclusive Raid Battle), at select gyms. The developers have already collected valuable early feedback data, but with this field-testing phase, they will be able to go even further.

During those field tests, they will make periodic adjustments to EX Raid eligibility requirements, frequency, times, locations, and durations. Their ultimate goal is to make the feature engaging, rewarding, and fun, for everyone.

The first EX Raid Passes will be sent out soon, and the first tests will take place as early as September 6th.
