Pokémon GO news (Sept. 21): Community Day, Deoxys, Ultra Bonus Event

Today’s Pokémon GO news: details about the next Community Day, Deoxys coming to EX Raid Battles, and details about the Ultra Bonus Event!

Pokémon GO – Community Day

Earlier this week, Niantic announced that the Meganium from the latest Community Day (which takes place on September 22nd) will know the Grass-type move Frenzy Plant. As usual, you will have to evolve it while the event is active!

Pokémon GO – Deoxys

Earlier this week, Niantic announced that Deoxys, the DNA Pokémon, is coming to EX Raid Battles. It will be available in its Normal Forme starting with the next cycle of EX Raid invitations.

Also, a major change regarding those Ex Raid Battles has gone live. Now, when you receive an EX Raid Pass, you can invite a friend to go with you… but only Best Friends and Ultra Friends.

Pokémon GO – Ultra Bonus Event

Yesterday, the Ultra Bonus Event went live. Until October 23rd, Mewtwo will show up in all Level 5 Raid Battles, and it nets you 5 Candies for capturing it. It can also learn the following moves now: Flamethrower, Thunderbolt, and Ice Beam.

Also, some new boxes are available in the in-game store:

• Special Box (480 Coins) = Incubators (x3), Lucky Egg (x2, Premium Raid Pass (x2), Star Piece (x2)
• Great Box (780 Coins= = Incense (x2), Super Incubator (x5), Premium Raid Pass (x5), Lure Module (x4)
• Ultra Box (1 480 Coins) – Super Incubator (x10), Lucky Egg (x6), Premium Raid Pass (x14), Star Piece (x6)

Finally, speaking of Mewtwo, there will be Raid Battles with it at each sponsored McDonalds Pokémon Gym in Japan, until October 1st. The Raid Battles take place at 3PM JST every day.
