Pokémon GO Community Day

Niantic has shared some details about the next Community Day, which is going to be completely different from the others. For starters, it will not last 3h, and not even an actual day, but a full week-end!

From November 30th to December 2nd, absolutely all the Pokémon featured in the various Community Days will be available again:

  • Bulbasaur
  • Charmander
  • Squirtle, Pikachu
  • Eevee
  • Dratini
  • Chikorita
  • Cyndaquil
  • Mareep
  • Larvitar
  • Beldum

What’s more, the features moves will also be available, which means you will be able to have your Pokémon learn them. Finally, there will also be a 3 hour period with special bonuses:

  • Double Catch XP
  • Double Catch Stardust
  • Double Incubator effectiveness

Those special bonuses will be active on the following days and at the following times:

  • Europe, the Middle East, Africa, and India: 10PM to 1PM GMT / 11AM to 2PM CET on December 1st
  • The Americas and Greenland: 11AM to 2PM PT / 2PM to 5PM ET on December 1st
  • Asia-Pacific: 12PM to 3PM JST on December 2nd

Storage increase

Good news for players who have been asking for it for a while now: Niantic has finally raised the limit for Pokémon storage, which is now set to 2 000 (instead of 1 500). But as usual, you need to purchase storage expansion from the in-game store to increase the amount of storage you can use.

Software update

Yesterday, a new Software update starting rolling on some Android devices. It introduces some new Quality of Life features:

  • Facebook integration, allowing you to add friends from your list of contacts on Facebook;
  • an option to reverse search your friend list and Pokémon storage
  • an indicator to show Pokémon that have been caught before the current calendar year (since those have a higher chance of being Lucky).

Unfortuantely, it’s not clear when this update will be available for all devices.

As usual, you can find more details about the various Software updates for the game on this page!

Music recording

Niantic and The Pokémon Company have shared a video showing the recording of the music of the latest promo video (for the arrival of the Sinnoh Pokémon):

PokéStop submissions

The latest Software update (not the one mentioned just above) is causing some issues with the PokéStop submissions system currently live in select countries. As a result, Niantic has decided to disable this feature temporarily while they’re working on a fix. Unfortunately, it’s not clear when submissions will go live again, or when the feature will be expanded to more countries.
