Pokémon GO – Articuno Day

Today, Niantic shared some details about Articuno Day, taking place this Saturday during the same timeslot as Community Days. During this event, all players will get 5 Raid Passes from Photo Discs at Gyms, allowing them to take part in Raid Battles against Articuno (which will sometime be Shiny).

Here’s when it will take place:

  • The Asia-Pacific region: 12PM to 3PM
  • Europe, the Middle East, Africa, and India: 10AM to 1PM BST / 11AM to 2PM CEST
  • The Americas and Greenland: 11AM to 2PM PT / 2PM to 5PM EST

Pokémon GO – Community Day

Yesterday, Niantic revealed that the special Squirtle that you can catch during the upcoming Community Day (on July 8th) will know Hydro Cannon (Fast Move) when evolved into a Wartortle and then a Blastoise during the event. Also, there will be special Field Research that will allow you to encounter a special Squirtle wearing sunglasses when completed.

Pokémon GO – Special Weekend (Japan)

Today, Niantic announced a special event for Pokémon GO in Japan, called Special Weekend. It runs from July 26th to July 29th, and features various events throughout Japan via sponsored PokéStops. However, there’s a catch, you need to get a ticket a select stores in order to be able to participate. You can get one simply by answering questionnaires and shopping at specific stores:

  • From July 5th: Softbank/Y Mobile
  • From July 11th: McDonalds
  • From July 13th: Toho Cinemas, Aeon Malls
  • From July 15th: Joyful
  • From July 24th: Tully’s Coffee

Each event runs from 10AM to 8PM, and allows players to take advantage of increased spawns of specific Pokémon, Double EXP, and more.

Here’s the Pokémon you can get via this Special Weekend:

  • July 26th – Softbank: Unown (S, B), Charmander
  • July 27th – Toho Cinemas, Tully’s Coffee, Joyfull: Unown (T, J), Squirtle
  • July 28th – McDonalds: Unown (M, D), Pikachu
  • July 29th – Aeon Malls: Unown (A, E), Bulbasaur

Pokémon GO – Safari Zone in Dortmund

Due to the issues that impacted the Safari Zone event in Dortmund on Saturday, Corsola and Roselia will keep on appearing more frequently in Europe until tomorrow (11.59PM local time).

Also, Niantic has revealed that the Safari Zone event was attended by over 170 000 trainers, who completed more than 890 000 Research Tasks, caught 1.75 million Roselia, and making over 17 000 trades.
