Nintendo Switch: new trailer and Super Bowl commercial, pics from the dev menu

In basically a month, the Nintendo Switch will be released worldwide. To promote it, Nintendo of America has decided to run its very first commercial during the Super Bowl on February 5th, and more precisely during the game’s fourth quarter. It looks like the company was inspired by The Pokémon Company and its Pokémon 20th Anniversary commercial, which aired during the Super Bowl last year.

The commercial lasts 30 seconds, but there’s also an extended version on Nintendo’s YouTube channel. Unsurprisingly, it showcases The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, though the extended version also shows the other Nintendo games coming to the Nintendo Switch.

Here’s the short version of the commercial:

And here’s the extended version of the commercial:

The commercial features “Believer”, the new song by Imagine Dragons (who performed live at the Game Awards a couple of years ago). It is available now on iTunes, Apple Music, Google Play, Amazon mp3 and Spotify.

Here’s what Nicolas Chavez (Nintendo of America’s Vice President of Marketing) had to say about the commercial:

The most anticipated video game system and video game of the year will be seen on the biggest stage of the year. Nintendo Switch will change how, when and where people play games. It’s only fitting that we’re changing how, when and where we advertise those games.

And today, Nintendo of Europe also uploaded a new “trailer” for the Nintendo Switch, which is pretty similar to the reveal trailer from October. It showcases various games, though only first-party titles. It is significantly longer than the extended version of the commercial above.

Here it is:

Finally, here’s something rather amusing: Nintendo Portugal messed up with editing, and actually left some footage from the dev menu in their version of the trailer. Unfortunately, that menu doesn’t show anything particularly exciting, though we can see some interesting options (including one for automatic correction for date/time). Also, it seems that devkits have twice the amount of internal storage as consumer units.

Here’s the pictures:

The Nintendo Switch will launch on March 3rd, worldwide.
