Nintendo Live 2023 (Seattle)

After three editions in Japan (in 2018, 2019, and 2022), Nintendo has announced that Nintendo Live is coming to Seattle this September! Nintendo Live 2023 will take place from September 1st to September 4th at the Seattle Convention Center, as part of PAX West 2023.

During this event, designed for families and players of all ages, visitors will be able to enjoy the following activities:

  • Games
    • Have a blast together with popular Nintendo Switch™ games. Play familiar favorites at your own pace, jump into friendly competitions together, or try something new to you!
  • Live Stage
    • Bring your energy and enjoy live stage performances, thrilling competitions, and more.
  • Photo Ops
    • Meet and snap a share-worthy picture with some of your favorite Nintendo characters, check out sculptures that faithfully bring in-game worlds to the real world, and other fun stuff. Will feature Mario, Luigi, and more.
  • Store
    • Discover exclusive Nintendo merchandise, event exclusives, and more!
  • Tournaments: Mario Kart 8 Deluxe Championship 2023 and Splatoon 3 Championship 2023
    • Cheer on top competitors as they rally for victory in high-level play.
    • Qualifiers will start on May 27th, and players can register for those starting today (more details)

In order to attend, visitors will need a ticket. If you’re interested in getting one, there’s no need to take out your credit card, as tickets will be available for free. However, you will need a Nintendo Account in order to register and try to win one.

Here’s how you can register:

  • First, visit the Nintendo Live website and register for an opportunity to be randomly selected to receive free tickets. The registration period starts on May 31 at 9 a.m. PT and will remain open until June 22 at 11:59 p.m. PT.
  • Eligible Nintendo Account holders who are at least 18 years old can register for the drawing. You can easily sign up for an account here if you don’t already have one.
  • For groups of two or more, each attendee with their own Nintendo Account must be linked to the same free Nintendo Account Family group. This ensures that all parties in the same group can attend together and on the same day.
  • If selected, attendance will be for one event day. More details about registering for and visiting Nintendo Live 2023 can be found on the Nintendo Live website.

If you’re attending PAX West, Nintendo will also offer a separate promotion where PAX West pass holders will be able to get tickets. More details will be shared on the official PAX West website.

Make sure to check out the official website for more details!

Splatfest illustrations

For every Splatfest, Nintendo creates a special illustration featuring the theme of that Spaltfest and the game’s idols (the Squid Sisters for Splatoon, Off The Hook for Splatoon 2, and Deep Cut for Splatoon 3). Every single Splatfest to date has received one such illustration, and you can now find them all in a brand new gallery on Nintendo’s official website in Japan (click here to check it out).

Unfortunately, this gallery does not include the illustrations for the Europe/North America-only Splatfests for Splatoon and Splatoon 2 (even though the website is also available in English).
