Nintendo wishes you Happy Holidays with… snowboarding footage from Zelda: Breath of the Wild

Christmas is next week, and New Year the week right after (yes, already!). That means it’s time for (game) companies to start wishing Happy Holidays to their fans via social media, their websites, etc.. This year, Nintendo of America has decided to do it in a way that’s definitely going to please Zelda fans… with some brand new gameplay footage from The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild.

Earlier today, Nintendo of America updated the special Holidays website, which now greets visitors with the following video:

The gameplay footage doesn’t show anything really new (we already saw Link using his shield to go snowboarding at E3 2016), but it reminds us that 2017 is indeed the year The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild finally comes out.

And The Legend of Zelda fans sure have been waiting for that one for a long time: it was first “announced” during the Nintendo Direct presentation in January… 2013! Then at E3 2014, Nintendo showed the very first trailer for the game, before waiting until E3 2016 to reveal the game proper.

It’s not clear when The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild will be released, but we will know for sure on January 12th / 13th! In the mean time… Happy Holidays!

The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild (Wii U / Switch) comes out in 2017, worldwide.

Thanks BY2K for the heads up!
