Nintendo Direct: The Legend of Zelda 40th Anniversary Direct, general Direct, and Treehouse Live announced for Sept. 8 and Sept. 9

What’s better than a new Nintendo Direct? Two Nintendo Directs! Nintendo has just announced that not one, but two new presentations will be livestreamed on September 8th and September 9th respectively. And that’s not all: there will also be a new Nintendo Treehouse Live immediately after the Nintendo Direct on September 9th!

The first presentation is the Legend of Zelda 40th Anniversary Direct, and it will be livestreamed on September 8th. It will last around 30 minutes. During this presentation, Nintendo will have several announcements related to the Legend of Zelda series, which celebrates its 40th Anniversary this year.

What to expect from this Nintendo Direct? A proper look at the remake of The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time (and a release date!) is a safe bet, along with more Nintendo Switch Online releases (including Nintendo Music). If Nintendo is planning to release a collection of The Legend of Zelda games to mark the anniversary, it’s bound to be announced there.

During this Zelda Direct, we might also get a teaser trailer for the live-action movie coming to theatres next April (we did get one for the Super Mario Galaxy Movie during the Mario section of the Nintendo Direct in September 2025).

North America (ET): 10AM
North America (PT): 7AM
Japan: 11PM

The next general Nintendo Direct will be livestreamed the following day, on September 9th. It will run for around 45 minutes, and will focus on Nintendo Switch 2 games releasing this Winter. It’s not clear if there will be Nintendo Switch games too, though if there’s any, they likely will not get much spotlight.
